Marcel Huber completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer at a young age.He later went on to study process engineering at MCI, The Entrepreneurial School in Innsbruck. In 2003, he worked on his thesis in the field of wood gas and special gas engines together with Innio Jenbacher.In 2004, he started to work as a research assistant at MCI and was later promoted to senior researcher. Until 2017 he headed the R&D department with the focus on renewable energies. In 2009, together with two former students, he founded SYNCRAFT. SYNCRAFT is an Austrian Greentech company that develops climate-positive solutions for resource-saving and sustainable energy production. Its wood power plants with a patented floating fixed bed technology generate heat, electricity, and valuable biochar from forest residues.
